Frome renewable eco trustNews release and presentation video
Location: Frome, Somerset
Type of Project: Update on renewable energy project
Frome Renewable Energy Co-op may sound like a mouthful but FRECO, as we call them, are helping to change the way energy is provided using renewable sources in the lovely Somerset town of Frome. Once home to the great Jensen Button, Frome has become a home to people who believe in a better world starting with renewable energy. FRECo was founded to supply the locals with renewable energy by partnering with local businesses who possess a large flat roof. FRECO have a limited budget due to their charitable status so we agreed to help them promote the project by filming a video.
The video is a mix of FRECO staff and their customers describing how the charity has helped them improve the quality of life in Frome. This was not just about the charity saying how great they thought they were, it is of course just as important to hear from multiple stakeholders. We filmed the video over the course of a single day, in the spirit of the feature, walking between locations. It was fascinating to find out how the Football Club had combined this with their efforts to increase capacity at the ground. The newest stand being covered with solar panels that help to pay for the club, supply power to the area and more importantly keep fans dry in the winter months.
